1930SummerA nest of the Common Loon was found by Gustav Swanson near Deer River. Its contents, the usual two eggs, hatched on June 7th. The writer eew two balf-grow young with an adult bird at Silver Lake, near Excelsior, on July 7th.,
1931SummerAn adult l>.'i.th two young observed by Hr. Swedenborg June 7th at Silv.ar Lake. Young were noted on Lalw Anc1.rusia, August 5th by the Shakopee observers.
1932SummerYoung Common Loons about 5 days old were seen by Marius Morse at Itasca Park, July 15. Gustav S\oro.nson found young birds 3/4ths grown on July 2.3 nt Lake of the Weeds.
1933Summer A nest of the Great Northern Diver, found by Nester Hiemeflz near st. Cloud on May 4th, contained the customary two eggs. "On June nth the owners of this nest were being followed by two young a week or 130 old." Two·young about one week old were observed by Gustav S'WSl'lson, Leander Fischer, Stanley Stein and the writer at Lake Itasca, on June 2oth. Alden' Risser reports young about hall' grown at Sturgeon Lake on June 25th. On the same date John Huseby' observed a young Common Loon on Lake Minnetonka.
1934Summer The first nest of this clarion-voiced fishe~ of our northern lakes was found by Jack Ha.."lson and Nester Hiemenz on Hay 13th near st. ClOUd, Stearns County. It was occupied 0y an incubc.ting bird. Our worthy editor, Ralph Woolsey, found tho latest nest of this species near Vergas ottertail Com1ty, on tho 3rd of June, when it held 2 eggs.
1935Summer Walter J. Breckenridge found a deserted Common Loon nest at White Bear Lake on June 28th. It contained 1 addled egg.
1936Summer The first and only nest of this.spocies fo1md end reported by a. club T!1ombcl' was that located by Narius Norse on June 24th on a small islnnd in Bear lake, Cloquet Valley Forest. The "1ost contained two eggs~ On July 4th Alden Rlsser and Ol:tc: Fischer saw t.wo broods of tvro small yo'.lllg on Saginogu Lnkeo One large young 1-ra.s soon near Excelsior oh August 15th oy E.. Sivodcnborg.
1938SummerAt Lake Itasca on August r Gustav Swanson saw 2 young of this species.
1940SummerA single nest of the great northern diver was found this year on May 30, at French Lake near Aitkin, Minnesota by Mrs. W. C. Olin of Duluth. In addition 5 recently hatched young were seen on July 5 and 6, at Sea Gull Lake, Cook County by Dr. Olga Lakela, Dr. Elizabeth Graybeal, Miss Mary Elwell, F dward Maher and Casimir Hero of Duluth. The last record for this species was obtained by C. Hero on July 2I, at Long Lake, Aitkin Co., when he saw 2 young with the female.

1945Summer2 young with parent, Cook Co., Aug. 1, William Longley; 2 young, Cook Co., June 12, Brother Hubert.
1946Summer1 young, Aug. 12, Cook Co., Mrs. Arthur Roberts and Henry Roberts. Most loon nesting of late has been seen in the Arrowhead country where it nests most commonly. It should be found anywhere north of the Twin Cities.

1961Springfirst reported on 4 April by A. C. Rosenwinkel in the Twin Cities area. On 5 April one was seen at Duluth by Lyle Patterson. The peak of influx was probably on 7 April when I saw one or more on each of our city lakes in MinneRed- throated Common Loons were reported at Duluth from May 13 to 20 by Jan Green. Another was seen on May 27 by R. Grant, William Pieper and the Huber brothers.

Numerous south reports in December from five counties, as late as 12/17 Hennepin CMB. One juvenile overwintered 1/14–2/29 Benton/Stearns (Sauk Rapids) HHD, m.ob.; this bird had been released 12/29 by a local wildlife rehabilitator (fide HHD).
